Summer Reading: 7 Literary Fiction Recommendations
Summer reading conjures up lazy days by the ocean or pool, engrossed in a fabulous book that is impossible to put down. For some, that’s a juicy romance novel or intriguing mystery; others prefer biography, memoir or history. Regardless of your preferences (and even if your plans don’t include a sand, surf and sun-filled escape), summertime is prime time for diving into something that takes you away from the everyday.
If you’re looking for some good fiction to sink into this season, these 7 novels are some of my recent favorites. (I tend to gravitate towards literary fiction — including historical fiction and works with LGBTQ themes — short stories, non-celebrity memoir and nonfiction about current events, trends, issues, and culture.)
