My Most Memorable Meals of 2019
From special dinners in Key West to a new family favorite, this was one delicious year.
Without a doubt, my favorite meals of 2019 happened in April when my best friend Cheryl and I spent four days in Key West celebrating our 50th birthdays.
We ate quite well.
On our first full day we took the Seafood Lovers Tasting and Cultural Walking Tour offered by Key West Food Tours featuring seafood from six different establishments. This was a great way to learn about the island as we visited several restaurants to sample their food. When I booked this I made sure to mention that I was gluten-free and they were extremely accommodating. At each stop I had a specially-prepared dish, like this Cayo Fish at Garbo’s Grill. Fresh mahi mahi, red cabbage, mango, jalapeño, cilantro, onion, and our house caribbean sauce. I love fish tacos and this was scrumptious. Highly recommend this tour and Garbo’s.
Dinner at Conch Republic Seafood Company one night was lobster tail, yellow rice and vegetables. Delicious and probably my first time having lobster tail. My friend Cheryl is somewhat of a lobster connoisseur…
